On Sarah Palin as Our Potential Next Next President

>> Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Yes, I said President. John McCain is 72, and the life expectancy of U.S. males is 75. If John McCain somehow miraculously gets the presidency and crooks in the next 4 years, voila, Mrs. Palin there will be our next next president. Chew on that, well, don't, some heads might explode.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against a female veep and I totally expect McCain to nominate someone other than the stereotypical older white men. But doesn't he do a background check before nominating someone as his veep? Current scandals about Palin's pregnant teen daughter, or the fact that she fired her brother-in-law out of spite? There's her lack of experience and her views on gays and abortion and then there's her going on tape saying that she doesn't know what the vice president does. Aren't there other minorities around that would work or are there no other female Republicans with better experience? Or are all Republicans scandal-ridden that makes a former beauty queen like Palin seems like the best candidate?

As always Jon Stewart and his crew provide the most valid point in the funniest way:

Nominating Palin kinda guaranteed McCain's lost, unless the G.O.P. rejects that nomination or McCain changes his mind. Is that still possible?
